About Simply Yoga Classes

Simply Yoga is a practice of Hatha yoga which focuses on the breath and asanas (postures). The style is influenced mainly by Iyengar and Kripalu yoga styles.

Simply Yoga classes and workshops use asanas (physical postures) and awareness of the breath to bring health and fitness to the body and a sense of calm and peacefulness to the mind and spirit.

Yoga is not simply a physical exercise. Yoga is a way of life that incorporates exercises, proper breathing, healthy eating, positive thinking and relaxation.
Please take a moment to read the following information before you begin your Yoga session.

Please try to arrive at least 5 – 10 minutes before your class to settle in.
Please leave shoes at the entrance to the room to keep the yoga area clean and dry.

Bring your own yoga mat and blanket to all classes and workshops. Extra mats are available if needed.
Wear loose comfortable clothing to class and bring a water bottle.
Yoga is best done in bare feet but socks are ok if preferred.
Do not exercise on a full stomach.
Please turn off cell phones.
Please do not wear perfume or cologne to class.
Please be sure your Health Profile form is up to date so your instructor is aware of any changes including contact numbers and medical issues.
The Health Profile must be completed before your first class.
There is no competition in yoga class especially with yourself. You are responsible for knowing what is a right or wrong exercise for your body. Don’t do anything that is painful. Ask if you are unsure about how to do something or if you want an alternative exercise or modification to a posture.

If you have questions or comments at any time throughout your yoga session, please e-mail chrissy@livingsimplyyoga.com.
